Both Mahe and Praslin islands have a golf course. The Seychelles Golf Club is tucked away on the southeast coast of the island of Mahe at Anse Aux Pins. Spread over just 50 acres of what was a mangrove swamp barely five decades ago this 4922-yard 9-hole course is deceptively short. The fairways, some of which are treacherously narrow, are lined mostly by tall, swaying coconut palms and the odd, strategically placed takamaka and casuarina tree. The banks of the water hazards are populated by a tribe of red crabs dedicated to crawling away with mishit golf balls! The course is also a sort of bird sanctuary and you can often spot rare migratory birds while walking to your next shot.
On the island of Praslin, the Constance Lemuria Resort provides an 18-hole Par 70 championship golf course. It offers a great challenge to all levels of players, professionals and amateurs alike. This spectacular course borders the enchanting beaches of both the Small Kerlan Cove and the Grand Kerlan Cove. Palm trees, allowing the light to intermittently filter through, fringe the first 12 holes. From the 13th hole, the course extends over the steep slopes of a thickly forested hill, with breathtaking vistas.
